Oshkosh is a city poised for growth. Over the past few years private business, city government, community organizations, and individual citizens have collectively worked together on a variety of projects that will help ensure that Oshkosh's local economy and quality of life remain strong and vibrant for generations to come.
Center City Master Plan
Imagine Oshkosh is a long-term vision and strategy for Oshkosh’s center city. It will direct growth, investment, and development in the City’s greater downtown area over the next decade. Extensive public outreach has been conducted during the planning process, and the community’s vision will drive the plan’s direction and recommendations.
The 107 acre Lakeshore site is a prime and highly visible location that serves as a "showcase window" for many of the great amenities the City of Oshkosh has to offer including close proximity and accessibility to natural resources and recreational activities for all residents and visitors to enjoy, a variety of residential and commercial options, and a new state-of-the-art world corporate headquarters for Oshkosh Corporation -- the city's only Fortune 500 company.
The Sawdust District will be the future home of the Milwaukee Bucks D-League team. Construction of the arena is expected to be completed by the start of the 2017 season. Plans also include a walking bridge over the Fox River connecting pedestrian trails, a hotel and resort where the long-underused Pioneer Resort and Marina now sits. There are also designs for mixed-use office space and a host of other amenities.
